Together Let's Mobilize for Peace.
Peace is our heritage.

The rehabilitation of human rights presupposes universal happiness. Human rights are universal and indivisible and aim to protect fundamental human rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 is the first legal document aimed at universally protecting fundamental human rights. Poverty is as much the product as the cause of human rights violations. It is this dual characteristic that makes it the most serious obstacle to the realization of fundamental rights. The relationship between human rights and poverty should be obvious: those who are denied their rights – for example, victims of discrimination or persecution – are most often poor. In general, it is difficult, if not impossible, for them to enter the labor market and they have little or no access to the most basic services and resources. In many societies, the poor cannot enjoy their rights to education, health or decent housing simply because they cannot afford it. And poverty affects all human rights. Poverty is being hungry. Poverty is being homeless. Poverty is being sick and not being able to see a doctor. Poverty is not being able to go to school and not being able to read. Poverty is not having a job, worrying about the future and living hand to mouth.
