International Day of Peace Celebration with Josammy Emporio Foundation (09/21/2023)

The International Day of Peace is a special day to celebrate and promote peace around the world. It is observed every year on 21 September, as declared by the United Nations General Assembly. The theme for this year is “Actions for Peace: Our Ambition for the #GlobalGoals”. This theme encourages us to take action to foster peace and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, which are a set of 17 goals that aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure well-being for all by 2030

Peace is my heritage

The International Day of Peace, also known as World Peace Day, is a United Nations-sanctioned holiday observed annually on September 21st . It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981 to coincide with the opening of the General Assembly . The day is dedicated to promoting world peace and the absence of war and violence .

The first International Day of Peace was celebrated in 1982 and was held on the third Tuesday of September each year until 2002, when September 21st became the permanent date for the International Day of Peace . The day is celebrated around the world with a variety of events and activities, including peace walks, concerts, and educational programs .

The International Day of Peace is an opportunity for people around the world to come together and promote peace and understanding among all nations and peoples .

The Josammy Emporio Foundation launched its activities in Brazzaville.

Initiated by the Congolese American writer-researcher Josammy Samba Ganga (son of the late Samba Mascott, the former member of the Bantu of the capital), residing in California, the new organization called: ”Josammy Emporio Foundation” has officially started its activities in Congo. Thursday September 21, 2023, on the International Day of Peace, she distinguished herself in Brazzaville. This foundation is part of the FiSSICOLA programs (International Festival to Stimulate African Science and Culture) which he launched in the United States of America.

Promoting African culture and revitalizing scientific research on the continent.

Initiated by the Congolese-American writer-researcher, Josammy Samba Ganga, the “Josammy Emporio” Foundation had launched, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, these activities in Brazzaville on the occasion of the International Day of Peace. It was during a Mass of thanksgiving celebrated at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, followed by a wide range of cultural and sporting activities in the courtyard of the said parish. This is part of the FiSSICOLA (International Festival for the Stimulation of African Science and Culture) programs, the objective of which is to promote culture and science in Africa, and to advance research and innovation on the continent.

Created to concretize the FiSSICOLA (International Festival for the Stimulation of African Science and Culture) programs that aim to promote culture and science in Africa, and to advance research and innovation on the continent, the Josammy Emporio Foundation is a platform that aims to defend peace and respect for human rights, while fighting poverty, inequality and racism. It aims to be a network of African elites all over the world.

This associative platform with an international vocation defines itself as a structure that intends to promote African art and culture in all its diversity. Through the FiSSICOLA programs, the foundation intends to set up mechanisms for financing lucrative projects to fight against unemployment, which is prevalent in the country, to organize, each year, a festival in order to restore African cultures, to create pilot stations to advance research and innovation at the national and continental level and to make it available to young people, Scientific expertise to support development initiatives.

It should be noted that the Josammy Emporio Foundation is also planning to set up socio-epistemological research structures in our country. This will make it possible to develop treatments to combat many of the pathologies present in our country and to work for better patient care in health facilities. The first edition of the FiSSICOLA programs will take place next year in Las Vegas, USA.

The Josammy Foundation has a legitimate objective of supporting sustainable development on an international scale with all its FiSSICOLA branches, is effectively committed with great dedication to supporting the following 17 sustainable development objectives.

The 17 goals that aim to end poverty are called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goals. They are a collection of seventeen interlinked objectives designed to serve as a “shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.”

The 17 SDGs are

  2. Zero Hunger: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
  3. Good Health and Well-being: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

  5. Gender Equality: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
  6. Clean Water and Sanitation: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
  7. Affordable and Clean Energy: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
  8. Decent Work and Economic Growth: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
  9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.
  10. Reduced Inequalities: Reduce income inequality within and among countries.
  11. Sustainable Cities and Communities: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
  12. Responsible Consumption and Production: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
  13. Climate Action: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
  14. Life Below Water: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development.
  15. Life on Land: Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
  16. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.
  17. Partnerships for the Goals: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

It was during a thanksgiving mass celebrated at the Sacré-Cœur Cathedral, followed by a wide range of cultural and sporting activities in the courtyard of the said parish. A month after this launch, the main lines of the action of the said foundation were discussed on Sunday, October 15, by its representative in Congo, Ms. Michelle Samba assisted by her collaborators, some artists, actors and sappers, at the program “Sape en live” hosted by Mondesir Mayinguidi on the private television channel D.r.t.v.
